The End?
Chinese Funeral Culture
China's funeral culture has a long history, and the present-day funeral culture has been formed step by step according to the development of history. Initially, in the primitive times, people believed that the soul of a person after death would lead to another world, and this concept also produced a religious nature. In Chinese funeral culture, there is a very complicated process, from the imminent death of a person to the rituals and sacrifices、after death, each step has a respect or remembrance of the deceased, as well as the expectation of wishing them a good life in the other world. And in the funeral process, every ethnic group in China has different customs, so this project explores the different customs of the ten or so folk in China in the funeral. And for the funeral culture, these rituals are a dialog between life and death, a transmission of emotions to the person who has passed away, as well as exploring people's views on death and funerals, what each funeral process means to people, and thinking about the meaning of death, is death the end?

Installation
For traditional Chinese funerals, there is a fixed process and the supplies needed for the funeral arrangement, which seems to have become a tradition, but if we can maintain the tradition and at the same time design different styles of funerals for different people what would it be like? For me, I want my funeral to abandon the traditional black and white, red and yellow funeral supplies, I want to use my own favorite colors, and add more patterns in the arrangement. A person's funeral is also the last time he meets people in this world, so it is very important to design a special and exclusive funeral for a person. Create a small exhibition arrangement.Think about how I think about death. The way people want to present their last moments on earth. I would like to call it a rite of passage because I understand the meaning of death, I believe that death is not the end of a person, I believe in the existence of the soul, and I believe that the emotions and memories left behind by a person who has lived their entire life do not end with death. Existence is existence, and even when a person dies, he or she cannot completely cut off the connection with the world. The work will be more emotional, expressing the traces of a person's existence in this world. Death is not the end, oblivion is. Therefore, I hope this “funeral” is not a farewell, but a proof of my existence.
Currency Design
Paper money began in China, as far as the Han Dynasty. The first forms of paper money were items used for rituals,. By the Tang and Song dynasties, paper money was used exclusively for rituals and funerary activities. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, paper money developed in both form and scale, becoming an integral part of folk rituals.Paper money symbolizes wealth and good fortune and is often burned for deceased family members or spirits to “enjoy” on the other world. In traditional funeral culture, there is specific paper money available for people to buy, as well as paper houses and paper cars. The currency design that I wanted to create is one that puts a design on a currency that I would like to have in the other world. The elements in this currency design are the ocean, music and gold. Here is a picture of me burning paper money.
